About 10,000 Degrees

For over 30 years, 10,000 Degrees has been helping underserved students get to and through college at unprecedented rates—84 percent completion from four-year colleges versus 54 percent of all students nationwide. All their students are from low-income backgrounds and over 90 percent of them will be the first in their families to attend college. The mission is to achieve educational equity, and help these students complete higher education and positively impact their communities and the world.

The vision of 10,000 Degrees is that every student has the support and resources to earn a college degree and achieve his/her potential, regardless of race, ethnicity and socioeconomic status. 10,000 Degrees has provided $56 million in financial aid to students since its inception. Two hallmarks of the 10,000 Degrees program are its Institute, which includes summer intensives and yearlong college support, and the college success program, which supports students while they are in college.
